What a great Carnival! November 4, 2011 was such a fun evening for our community, and the PTA wants to say “thank you” for making it such a special event for Barton Hills. I saw parents, teachers, and alumni selling tickets, working booths, decorating, building a maze, donating items and cleaning up. It takes a lot of manpower to make Carnival happen, and it is very appreciated! A special thanks to Tamara Carlisle, our fabulous Carnival Chair this year. She makes Carnival look effortless, but I know she and her team put in many, many hours to ensure it was a great evening. Carnival is our largest fundraiser. This year our preliminary numbers look like we will clear over $25,000! The proceeds we earn allow us to fund so many items for our school: teacher reimbursements for classroom purchases, cultural arts presentations for our children, teacher development, a yearbook, directory & t-shirt for every student in the school, books for our library and our literacy library, a portion of our computer lab teacher’s salary……and much more. None of this would be possible without the volunteer hours that everyone put in to make this Carnival a success — THANK YOU!
