Health and Wellness Fair

Bring your families and come out to the first annual FREE BHE Health and Wellness Fair this Saturday, Feb. 27 from 2-4 PM! Enjoy fun games, free smoothie tastings, interactive martial arts demonstrations, cool raffle prizes and more! You can even pick up a free garden start-up kit from the Sustainable Food Center, find out if you’re deficient in zinc while you chat with naturopathic doctor about holistic medicine, and learn about the benefits of acupuncture – there’s something for everyone!

Yes, you can come and go, but we encourage you to make it for the ALL of the excitement and here’s why:
At 2:05 a brief information will kick off the event and each family will be given a “Wellness Passport.” Then families will rotate through five great stations, and at the end of the event turn in their passports for a chance to win one of the fabulous door prizes – everything from gift certificates to Whole Earth Provision Co. to massage or acupuncture sessions! (Door prize drawing at 4 PM; must be present to win.)

Childcare for Silent Auction

The 2010 Silent Auction is right around the corner – have you lined up a sitter?

Thanks to Collins Van Nort and Faith United Methodist Church, there will be childcare available right next door to the event at 2701 South Lamar Boulevard.

Space is limited and reservations are required. Childcare available for ages 5 and above. Details:

Drop off and pick up: between 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm

Location: Faith United Methodist Church, 2701 South Lamar Blvd.

Total Cost: $5 per child for the entire evening! Please bring cash for payment.

January PTA Meeting and Choral Performance

Grocery Card Program:

Please consider joining our Grocery Card Program and purchase HEB Grocery cards from our PTA. You get the full value of the card but the stores donate a percentage of each sale back to our school. You can order cards in either $50 or $100 amounts. It’s a great way to support PTA when you buy groceries!

Annual Fund Drive Update

Thank you Annual Fund donors! To date we have raised over $17,000. Visit our Annual Fund page to learn more and see our current list of generous donors, or to make a donation online. You can also view Annual Fund stats and the donor list at school on the PTA bulletin board. Our goal is 100% participation; currently we have 37%.

Have you considered asking your employer for a company match? It’s an easy way to double your money for Barton Hills Elementary.

The Nutcracker!

Join us Tuesday, December 15th at 6:30 pm for the 4–6th grades production of The Nutcracker! Mr. Tabone has been working overtime helping the students learn their lines and tune-up their songs, and parents have been bustling behind the scenes to put together great costumes.

You won’t want to miss it!
