We can all relate to the modern demands of trying to put fast, frugal, fun and healthy meals on our children’s plates each day.  That’s why this week’s CATCH tip for parents is to check out Healthy Child Healthy World’s new online interactive guide, Eat Healthy.   Here you can find quick and easy recipes for eating right on a budget, tips to take to the grocery store for the best kid-approved snacks, simple steps for making healthier, greener food choices, and much more.  Enjoy!

CATCH

CATCH (Coordinated Approach To Child Health) is an evidence-based Coordinated School Health Program designed to promote physical activity and healthy food choices, and prevent tobacco use in elementary school-aged children. By teaching children that eating healthy and being physically active every day can be FUN, the CATCH Program has proven that establishing healthy habits in childhood can promote behavior changes that can last a lifetime.

Barton Hills is instituting the CATCH program. A committee has been established by BHE PE teacher Mrs. Perry and includes BHE administration, teachers and parents.
