After-School Options
The following is information on options available for BHE children after-school. These activities are all privately run and are not sponsored by Barton Hills Elementary or its PTA.
DAILY CHILDCARE
Earth Kids
Earth Kids is a daily childcare program run by BHE 6th grade teacher Collins VanNort. Children are picked up at school by Earth Kids as the program is located off-site at Faith United Methodist Church on S. Lamar. Highlights of the program include weekly greenbelt adventures and part-time options.

Extend-A-Care for Kids
Extend-A-Care for Kids is a city wide non-profit childcare program. Extend-A-Care operates onsite out of the BHE cafeteria. Financial assistance is available. Hours are from after school until 6:30 P.M.

Austin Sports Academy
Austin Sports Academy picks up at Barton Hills for their after school childcare program. They offer a sports oriented program with full and part time options. The facility is located on Stassney Lane.

Habibi’s Hutch
Habibi’s Hutch picks children up at BHE for their after school childcare program located off of Manchaca and Lamar.

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES
Live the Language
Live the Language offers Spanish language classes taught by BHE parent Deidre Aragon. Deidre picks the children up at BHE after school and they walk together down to St. Mark’s Church. Pick up is at St Mark’s. Classes are available for all levels.

La Petit Provence
La Petit Provence offers French language classes on a weekly basis in the BHE neighborhood. La Petite Provence is run by Valerie Chaussonnet, a former BHE parent. Valerie can pick the children up from school and group and private classes are available at all levels.

Mad Science
Mad Science is a private science enrichment program. The classes are held on a weekly basis in a BHE classroom when space is available.
